I create landscapes of delicate lines. It invites the viewer to watch more than once.
During my studies I first made videos that shows my fascination for skin, hair and structures. Everything was filmed close-by and the audience came in an unknown world. Besides my videos I also started to draw. In my drawings I studied various drawing techniques and how I could recreate the same atmosphere of my videos in my drawings.
During my process I developed my own technique. I first make the paper black with charcoal and then start to draw with a eraser. By partially removing the charcoal my image starts to show up.
My images are showing unknown worlds where is a sense of solitariness, but also a feeling of warmth and calmness.
